The official Municipal Pension Plan redesign engagement process is now complete.

From September 14 to October 23, member and employer engagement occurred through the call centres, webinars, townhalls, Q&A sessions, member and employer newsletters and through the submit a question function on this website. Questions from members have been received until November 20. This website will be available until there is a final decision on plan design and then information would move to the Municipal Pension Plan website.

We have conducted a comprehensive review of the Municipal Pension Plan and have developed a package of proposed changes to update the plan. We have been guided by four principles:

  • improve equity for members,
  • align benefits with how the majority of members use them,
  • set a strong foundation for the long-term sustainability of the plan, and
  • stay within the current cost envelope.
